Types of Nozzle Designs for Your spray Gun
The nuzzle design can have a major influence in achieving first-pass transfer efficiency.
First-pass transfer efficiency is the amount of powder applied to the part compared
to the total amount of powder sprayed by the application equipment. The deflector-pattern nozzles and the flat spray nozzles are the two most widely
used nozzles, with both available in various pattern shapes. The flat spray nozzle
provides a well-defined pattern and is more directional. The deflector-pattern
nozzle provides a softer, well-dispersed pattern that has a liquid bell appearance.
There are many different types of spray nozzles, however the flat spray, wide conical
and narrow conical are the ones most commonly used in the United States. There
are also gun extensions, which assist the operator to easily reach deep recessed
parts.
